That’s right — we’ve survived 365 days of derailleur drama, bottom bracket mysteries, and the occasional “wait… where did we leave the shop keys?” (answer: usually next to the coffee).

A Look Back at Year One 🚲

In just one year at The Shad Co., we’ve:

🔧 Tuned countless derailleurs (and untuned a few on purpose for science).

⚙️ Rescued many a bike from “my friend tried to fix it” syndrome.

💬 Uttered the sacred words, “You probably need a new chain,” more times than we’d care to count.

But that’s not all — in between wrenching and snack breaks, we also:

🛠️ Expanded our repair services — now offering full drivetrain overhauls, brake bleeding, wheel builds, and precision upgrades to keep your ride running smooth and fast.

🧪 Launched Octo Slick™ chain lube — developed in-house to battle Arizona’s heat and dust, and keep your drivetrain slicker than a marlin at full speed.

📝 Grew our blog — sharing pro tips, ride stories, and wrench wisdom at theshadco.com/blog, because a little knowledge makes every ride more fun.

And through it all, you — our beloved community of riders, rollers, and occasional sprocket philosophers — have kept us pedaling forward. 🫡

What’s Happening at SHADFEST?

It’s not a party unless there’s a little something for everyone. At SHADFEST 2025, you’ll find:

🍕 Free food — because no one should wrench or ride on an empty stomach.

🎁 Giveaways — gear, gadgets, and things you didn’t know you needed (but definitely do — and yes, there will be Octo Slick™ up for grabs).

🛍️ Vendors — perfect for your next “accidental” upgrade.

🏓 Ping Pong Tournament — bring your A-game (and your trash talk). Prizes and bragging rights are on the line.

🕹️ Retro Game Console Tournament — compete for the high score on classic games; the top point player of the day will win a special prize and eternal SHADFEST glory.

🎶 Tunes louder than your squeaky pedals — pro tip: bring earplugs if you’re the type who likes hearing your chain complain.
